Segundo Piso is a half time atelier based in an upholstery studio in Matamoros Mexico. They work small scale and use dead-stock fabrics and are mainly inspired by workwear. The love of feeling comfortable and confident in their creations is important.
The creative collaborative world is truly a magical place. The journey that brought me in touch with Andrea - the founder of Segundo Piso started over 3 years ago. On my annual winter overseas buying trip, in Mexico - with stops in Guadalajara & Mexico City, I came across so many super creative people - most of them starting their lines for the very first time.
In this case, I saw the brand Baku which uses recycled rabbit fur to make slippers and sandals. This brand in particular then led me to Andrea's brand. And here we are.
We discussed what color of fabrics to use to create this amazingly gorgeous and unique coveralls based off of her creation already.
Made in a combination of mostly pure heavy linen, cotton and suede. Then knowing her brand is centered around - so I asked for LOVE IS THE ANSWER in spanish to be embroidered on to the back of the coveralls. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!
