DETAILS:
Wood-firing process where a group of artists fire the kiln for 40+ hours reaching temperatures of 2400 degrees F. Hot enough to melt the ash into a glaze on the outside of the pots. The flame moves through the kiln and the paints the pots with flame-like patterns called "flashing"
The Iron in the garnet sand melts and comes to the surface during the firing process.
