Merz b. Schwanen stands for authentic manufacturing processes and workmanship with all their subtle details. With the help of a traditional knitwear manufacturer based in the Swabian Jura, Peter Plotnicki revived the old way of crafting clothes. Driven by his passion for traditional fabrication processes this team created a collection of t-shirts and button border shirts ("henleys") solely made by circular knitting machines like they were used roaring twenties well into the golden fifties.
Part of our Reissues collection, this is our classic Harrington. Made in England, with iconic details.
The Reissues collection takes the Fred Perry archive as the starting point, with each piece referencing the styles and stories that form the subcultural uniform. The Harrington was first designed in 1930s Britain, but it was the ‘60s Mods who elevated it to the cult status it has today. Paired with the Fred Perry Shirt, it became a true piece of tough, hardwearing uniform, and this version adopts its original features. Fitted with a tartan lining, the Harrington makes subtle reference to anti-establishment dressing.
